The meaning behind JAGA

JAGA was founded in 2019 by its Founder and CEO, Swaroop Kaushik. Swaroop has more than 20 years’ experience in coworking and flexible workspaces, with a career that took him across Europe before he established JAGA in Australia.


Working across different countries and cultures taught Swaroop that a great workspace is about more than where people work. It is also about how they feel while they are there.


The name JAGA brings these ideas together. As Swaroop explains, JAGA can relate to space and awakening in Hindi, happiness in Mongolian, protection or care in Malay and Indonesian, and to watch over in Torres Strait Islander language.


Together, these meanings reflect what JAGA is about: giving people the space to work well in an environment where they feel supported and looked after.
